The rate at which the world is changing is now faster than ever. The pace of technical innovation has been rapidly increasing for the past century, making our world an unimaginably better place than it used to be. All novelties age overnight these days. Therefore, the evolution of technical products today must be fast-paced and on-point to consistently lead in their respective industries.

Most daring innovation lives on the bleeding edge of technology. We design, engineer and support production of solutions, enriching breakthrough ideas through a unique innovation process.

By design we are a team of 16 engineers of many overlapping fields of expertise working in unison, a large enough team to handle most complex challenges while small enough to be maximally agile. To empower our innovation process, we have set out on a mission to establish as many useful manufacturing and prototyping processes in-house, minimizing the reliance on external partners and enabling the process of immediate changes. Our work environment is set to be friendly and enjoyable to enable our team to be always at their best.

Launched in 2014 IRNAS stands for Institute for development of advanced applied systems, and this is exactly what we do to approach our mission of making the world a better place through technical innovation.

Luka Mustafa, CEO

We are a highly-skilled, cross-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists that strives to apply expertise in mechanical, electrical and software engineering to a wide array of industrial, scientific and everyday problems, by creating effective and highly customized systems. We aim to empower our customers with technologies that improve their work process, allow them to bring technological ideas to the finished product and are the best fit for their needs.

We aim to provide the best quality, fast development service in order to support rapid ideas, and new product development, let that be an advanced communication system, CNC development platform or simple IoT device.

Whether you are in search of a hardware development partner, interested in one of our existing products, or need technical consultation on your project, contact us, and we will explore your idea with you.

Luka Mustafa

He leads Institute IRNAS since 2014 with his inventor & maker mindset. He is in charge of business strategy, keeps an eye on all aspects of hardware development in projects we’re involved in, is an expert in telecommunications and regularly speaks about the benefits of open and future-proof hardware at events around the world. He is a Shuttleworth Foundation Fellowship Alumni.

Eva Černčič

Translates numbers into plain English. She manipulates and analyses collected data sets from prototyped systems to evaluate their performance and develop market-oriented solutions.

Partnering with the software development team, she aids in algorithm design and implementation.

Luka Banović

Is fascinated by the comprehensive experience that product development offers. He makes sure to maximize the value of our work every step of the way. He always works hard to find a quick and efficient way of delivering our solutions. He is an alumnus from Southampton University (UK) and University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria.

Mihael Miško

Loves CNC machines. He delivers perfectly manufactured prototypes and manages our production facilities. His passion is slick production planning and CAM optimisation. He overlooks product assembly and ensures quality consistency of all our products.

Nejc Klemenčič

He is interested in embedded system programming, machine learning and signal processing. Knowledge of different programming languages makes it easy for him to quickly adapt, learn and develop new software and firmware. For a semester he studied in Lisbon at Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science.

Barbara Razdevšek

Practices her soft skills expertise in communicating with our customers and suppliers, and supporting sales and business projects. She also comanages content, social media and SEO, and leads the office administration, while landscape architecture studies at the University of Ljubljana’s Biotechnical Faculty have left her a more-plants-in-offices activist.

Mateja Blažič

Offers technical support on the assembly line to help optimise the production process. She also designs safe customised packaging solutions and oversees the final presentation of our products. She attended The University of Dundee, completing several courses in Architecture and gaining related skills along the way.

Jure Zagoranski

With a Master’s degree in Industrial product design and former education in mechanical engineering, he oversees testing and quality assurance processes. He also helps as a photographer and digital fabrication operator.

Marko Sagadin

He likes to get into nitty-gritty details of firmware development. His speciality is creating Machine Learning applications for small embedded devices.

Tadej Plej

As an embedded engineer with Masters degree from University of Maribor and a Certified IPC specialist according to IPC-A-610 he is focused on designing and manufacturing of electronic circuits.

Vid Rajtmajer

With broad experience in a variety of programming languages, he develops all and every kind of software needed for our projects, including firmware and mobile applications. He makes a fully functional product, no matter what the requirements are. For a semester he studied in Lisbon at ISEL and wrote his master’s thesis in Heraklion on Crete.

Tjaž Vračko

Focuses mainly on firmware development of Zephyr RTOS based systems as well as manages product testing by developing and managing automated testing suites, both for software and hardware. Whether during active development or in the production phase, he makes sure new features work and the old ones don’t break, so that our products are always up to par. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science.

Blaž Bratuš

Has completed a master’s in Mechanical Engineering at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Maribor. He has experience in 3D modelling with different CAD and CAE software programs. No matter what the application is, he takes our products from the initial idea to a fully optimised finished prototype following the optimal path.

Dr. Boštjan Vihar

Biomimetics and tissue engineering enthusiast. Develops protocols for tailor-made research tools and mediates communication between scientists and engineers. He obtained a PhD in natural sciences from RWTH Aachen University and currently holds a post-doc position at the University of Maribor. He loves tinkering in the lab and finding new ways of measuring biological phenomena.

Aleksej Cegner

He is focused on the development of innovative hardware with the use of the latest technologies and creating test processes for hardware testing. He carries out the role of supervising the quality of our assembly line and is also responsible for ordering components for various projects we are working on.
